Cantaloupe

We just got back from a lovely family lunch at Nicole’s in South Pasadena where Noah had his first cantaloupe.

…..

Well, now we have been back from lunch for about 28 hours. Time to finish teh post! As I was saying, Noah loved the cantaloupe.

maybe he wasn’t totally sure at first

but it soon became clear he needed more

I guess I’m going to figure out how to purchase and prepare this stuff myself now.

  • if by “prepare” you mean cut up, i’m sure you’ll ace it.

Unfortunately I believe I will need to touch said cantaloupe in order to cut it up. See how much I love my son? I sacrifice so much for him.

Do you have a baby food grinder? I put everything in that sucker–chicken, plums, peaches. I’m sure cantaloupe will work too!

Jen, I wish I could just grind it up (although that may take more of the touching I was worried about). If only he would eat things off of a spoon! I can get him to eat oatmeal, but that is pretty much it. He wants to feed himself or have you put tiny cubes of things in his mouth. I really need to get over being so squeamish and picky.

Answer:if you go to the slightly overpriced refrigerated section at any grocery store, you should find already cut up cantaloupe…along with other fruits which may or may not make you squeamish. :) Of course, if you do buy them whole and cut them up, you could use that sacrifice as fodder when Noah gets old enough to need a guilt trip or two.
