Ok, so I have no time to blog these days and while Noah isn’t yet 13 months, this will have to be his 13 month post because now is when I happen to have some free time. Part of the reason I haven’t been blogging is because of how darn much he has [...] So tonight I made tofu for the first time. Ever. I know, it is embarrassing. I was even a vegetarian for four years and never actually prepared the stuff myself. In my defense, I was a vegetarian in high school, so really wasn’t so great at making choices at all, especially when it [...] We just got back from a lovely family lunch at Nicole’s in South Pasadena where Noah had his first cantaloupe. ….. Well, now we have been back from lunch for about 28 hours. Time to finish teh post! As I was saying, Noah loved the cantaloupe. maybe he wasn’t totally sure at first [...] I keep reading that title and can’t get over it. EIGHT MONTHS. Not only does that sound so old, but he has really and truly seemed like such a BOY these days. I can see the baby slowly slipping away and it gets me all sentimental and weepy (although that could be due [...] Noah is finally getting old enough to enjoy little projects we do together. He has been very interested in how things feel which has made meal times a blast. I actually gave up the other day and just dumped his peas on his highchair tray so he could smear them and slap them [...] The oilcloth scandal has really got me behind in giving you updates! There has been quite a bit of excitement the past few weeks and thought I’d share a bit of what we have been doing. We are in the middle of having our yard landscaped. Does that sound totally bourgeois? Neither Sam or [...] So, my first baby food making round was sort of a disaster. We started with bananas and I had the idea that I would make them to order. Funny! I was wrong. I hate pumping first of all and I was using breast milk to thin the bananas. Then I figured we could just [...] I got to use the excuse of turning thirty to invite a few friends up to a cabin in Arrowhead for the weekend. There were a bunch of firsts for Noah in this weekend, first time in a cabin, first time at a lake, and…first time sitting up (for a second). He had so [...] Ok, probably not really his first word, more of a coincidence, but he totally said “mama” today! Noah has been rolling over like a madman since Grandma Sue left yesterday.
